Lumar (Persian: لومار)[a] is a city in the Central District of Sirvan County, Ilam province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4] It is also the administrative center for Lumar Rural District.[5] The city is populated by Kurds.[6]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 2,702 in 591 households, when it was in the former Shirvan District of Chardavol County.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 2,658 people in 670 households.[8] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,696 people in 764 households,[2] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Sirvan County, with Lumar as its capital.[4]
