Jim Bob Altizer[1] (May 5, 1932 – December 12, 1997) was an American calf and steer roper.

Life and career

Altizer was born in Del Rio, Texas.[2] He graduated from Del Rio High School in 1948.[3]

Altizer was a Texas border ranchman.[4] He was also a member of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.[5]

In 1979, Altizer was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.[2]

Altizer died[6] on December 12, 1997[2] of cancer,[5] at the age of 65.
