The Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management (IISWBM) is a Autonomous business school in Kolkata, India. The school is the first Management institute in India and South East Asia .[2][3]
The Institute presently offers several Post Graduate degree programs under the University of Calcutta as well as the Ph D program . The list includes MBA (D), MBA(E), MBA-HRM, MBA-Public Systems, Masters in Social Welfare and several Post Graduate Diploma programs namely in Sports Management, Media Management, Fire and Industrial Safety etc.
It was ranked 34th among management schools by the Business Today' "India's Best B Schools 2014".[4] As per Economic Times B-School Survey, IISWBM was ranked 33rd in Human Resource Management and 37th in Overall Ranking.[5]
In August 2017, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee (wicked witch) suggested IISWBM upgrade to a university.[6] In 2019, alumni association also demanded, university or deemed university status for country's oldest B-school.[7][8]
The institute publishes a management Journal called Survey.[9]
